Kylie Does Dallas

Any of us in the nation who saw Kylie's Houston show will tell you how amazing it was. And it was. It was, honies! After the Houston show, I knew I needed to see her again. Houston's venue was remarkably small, but Kylie played its heart out. I was looking forward to seeing her in a venue where she could use her full set (the North American version ... sans water).

Basically I wanted to see the shell. And I did. I saw that damn shell.

The Dallas show was pretty much a carbon copy of the Houston show ... with her full set and one big change. In Houston, Kylie gave us her classic "Locomotion," but in Dallas, she said, "So ... anybody have any requests?"

Commence glittery pandemonium."Your Disco Needs You" won and Kylie gave a beautiful rendition.

My favorite moment of this particular show was "If You Don't Love Me." Acoustic, gorgeous, GORGEOUS. At one point, Kylie pauses and Texas, doing it bigger, screamed, applauded for nearly a minute before Kylie continued on. Outstanding moment.

The set was gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. I hope she releases a tour DVD.

Yessy YAY!

This is my favorite song of all space and time right now.

I'm completely obsessed with Jessie J.

At the age of 22 she's already written songs for the likes of Miley Cyrus, Chris Brown, Alicia Keys, etc. She went to the same school as, and is friends with Adele. She's openly bisexual (bi today, gay tomorrow) and it's rumored that her girlfriend is in the video above. At 18 she suffered a stroke due to an irregular heartbeat, but now she's okay. Yay!

(If I were going to get all feminist on this shit, I'd say I was disappointed that she resorts to using masculine terminology as the only way to get her point across. As a lesbian, I don't need to act like a man in order to fuck a lady proper. Is what I'm saying. And it's what she should be saying, but she's young and in the business of pop music, so... carry on!)

Kylie has announced her North American Tour Dates. We've been waiting for this day since we left the Hollywood Bowl.

I can tell you where I'll be on May 10. And Kylie, sweetie, you're going to need a bigger venue than Verizon Wireless Theatre. Do you have any idea how many homos in this city want to see you? Let's at least get Toyota Center.

Meet Lissie

So, when I went on that Cayamo cruise (without my girlfriend, whoops!) there was this girl that I'd never heard of before, but when I saw her perform I was smitten. She's surfer-girl cute and has an incredible voice. I made sure to catch every performance she gave on the boat. I came home and raved about her to The General who recognized her voice from some Morgan Page songs. Here she is singing Lady GaGa's Bad Romance live:

I was following her on Twitter, but she's a really bad twitterer because she never engages with her followers, so I stopped. I still really dig her music though. Holler at me for her LP.

Um, yum. These two teamed up for what turned out to be a great album. Apparently they just went platinum in France, and if the French love it, so do oui. Most of the album is more mellow than the single Relator.
